The Club at Castlewood in Pleasanton celebrated the groundbreaking of its multimillion-dollar renovation and modernization project on Friday, where members of the Board of Directors and Remodel Committee were on hand to mark the occasion.
The approximately $16 million project, estimated to be completed by June 2022, includes major upgrades to the main clubhouse area, a new sports center, a brand-new fitness and wellness center, and accessibility improvements in line with Americans with Disabilities Act standards, among other aspects.
“It’s exciting. It’s a big day for Castlewood, long-awaited,” club president Rick Barraza told the Weekly. “We’re excited to launch the remodel and start the renovation of the clubhouse, a brand-new sports center, new facilities and new dining amenities. Membership is excited, and we think it’s going to enhance the membership experience.”
Barraza added that the club will continue to operate for the duration of the project, with golf, dining and club operations still available for members.
