With the regional stay-at-home in effect through at least early May, the Tri-Valley Career Center (TVCC) is offering virtual help to job seekers, whether they were looking for work before the COVID-19 pandemic or lost their job as a result.

TVCC, a service of the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District, has been working to offer online career services. Small businesses and job seekers can find resources on the Career Center website, including unemployment, Covered California, the small business development center, and live virtual support.

“While our office may be closed, our staff is still working, coaching and continuing to provide critical job search support and training,” said Sarah Holtzclaw, TVCC program manager. “We all want to be as available as we can to support everyone through the economic and health crises.”

The TVCC Job Club and job search strategy workshops are being offered via Zoom. There is a new workshop covering resources and job searching during the COVID-19 crisis, in addition to standard topics like interview skills, networking and writing cover letters. A six-week series of virtual stress reduction workshops is being offered via Zoom every Wednesday at 9 a.m. Users may attend one or all of the workshops.

A system of crisis support is being offered by career counselors; call 560-9431 and leave a message or email tvcc@clpccd.org for more information. Users are encouraged to continue checking the TVCC website and signup for TVCC newsletters for updated information.

For questions or more information, contact tvcc@clpccd.org, or visit the Career Center website.
