Pleasanton police arrested four people this week on suspicion of attempted murder and criminal conspiracy related to a shooting incident at The Kensington apartment complex on East Gate Way on Tuesday morning.
Livermore residents Angela Ross, 21, Alberto Vaca, 22, and Andres Medina Camacho, as well as Alexander Ferguson, 22, of Tracy, have all been booked into the Santa Rita Jail, according to police.
The investigation began after officers responded to the apartment complex around 9:55 a.m. Tuesday, at which time Pleasanton residents Nicole Thompson and Joseph Mauck reported they were shot at by one person and threatened by three others toting baseball bats, police said.
The pair ran from the assault attempt and sustained no injuries during the incident, according to police. One culprit reportedly broke a window on Thompson’s vehicle before all four fled the area in a silver Infinity.
About 40 minutes later, Livermore police stopped the silver Infinity and found Ross, Ferguson and Vaca inside, according to investigators. Officers identified Ross as Mauck’s ex-girlfriend, and all three in the vehicle were allegedly identified as the culprits.
The trio were arrested and taken to the Pleasanton Police Department for questioning.
Police allege that during the course of the investigation, Camacho was identified as the person who shot at the pair in Pleasanton. Authorities would arrest Camacho while executing a warrant at his Livermore home early Wednesday.
According to police, Ross admitted organizing the attack in retaliation for an ongoing dispute with her ex-boyfriend and Thompson. Vaca and Ferguson allegedly admitted to threatening the pair with baseball bats.
I bet their mothers are so proud and are sure it can’t be thier babies that were involved in this because they are such good children!

Great….shooting, attempted murder, all at a relatively new apartment complex built by a relatively new strip mall next to the freeway.

You can thank the city leaders who decided to thumb their noses at the existing state housing laws and regulations concerning providing available housing to local workers. Pleasanton city leaders wanted to welcome all sorts of new businesses into this town, but didn’t want to provide housing for all those new workers. That’s a no-no according to state housing laws. And Pleasanton didn’t step just a little bit over the line, they stepped way over the line.
All Jerry Brown and Urban Habitat did was to point out that Pleasanton was violating state housing laws. Blaming them for all the new apartments in our city is like blaming a traffic cop for giving you a speeding ticket when you were doing 45mph in a 25 mph zone.

Just curious – I wonder what did the victims do (if anything) to provoke the attack? Unless the ex-girlfriend is a complete psycho it’s hard to imagine her getting so angry without some kind of provocation. And to convince 3 other guys to join in with her? They were all pretty mad at these two people, enough to shoot at them. but why? Hmmmmmmmm.
I’m not justifying them getting shot at but on the other hand I think the whole group stinks, both the victims and the perps.

It’s a crazy world we live in and this stuff happens everyday. I know most of you are a shocked because it happened in our sweet little town but the truth is it probably happens more than we hear cause our town seems to be on the hush hush over crime. Pleasanton is like any other surrounding city. The cost of homes says nothing about the people who live in them or the company they may keep. Our neighborhoods and schools are filled with just normal people with normal issues and a lot of hidden secrets. Domestic violence, child abuse and neglect, alcohol and drug addiction. I just pray for a better world, way to much corruption.
Where is Al. Sharpton and Jessie Jackson, I’m sure they are very nice misunderstood young people. I hope that the Pleasanton Police didn’t harm them.
