Detectives and officers from the Crime Prevention Unit had been searching for Robinson along the Arroyo Las Positas in unincorporated Livermore on Dec. 21, an area that they believed she frequented and where she was reportedly last seen on Nov. 19, according to the statement.

“Our officers located human remains in the creek, which were later identified by the Alameda County Coroner’s Office as Cindi Robinson,” LPD officials said.

The unincorporated area where Robinson was found is in the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office jurisdiction. LPD said the sheriff’s office is investigating the cause and manner of Robinson’s death.

After Robinson was reported missing on Nov. 21, LPD’s month-long search consisted of more than 20 interviews and several coordinated searches, which included the use of interagency personnel, drones, a search and rescue dive team and cadaver dogs. “The terrain in this area was dense and difficult to navigate,” LPD officials said.
