Original post made on Jul 3, 2013

Another downtown Pleasanton First Wednesday Street Party starts at 6 p.m. tonight with booths set up to market products and services along with live music in a beer and wine garden provided by The Department of Rock. Tonight's event, hosted by the Pleasanton Downtown Association, is sponsored by Hacienda Business Park. Thousands from Pleasanton and nearby communities are expected to shop, dine and stroll the downtown streets. Also at the event will be the Market on Main, a First Wednesday version of the city's popular Farmers Market, and ArtBlock, a live art and music experience on Angela Street. Main Street will be closed from Del Valle Parkway to Bernal Avenue from 4:30 to 10 p.m.

Don't close Main Street at Del Valle on the north end, do it after St. John street such that traffic to the event and other downtown businesses can be accessed via Peters Street.

This still leaves plenty of closure on Main Street for the events but allows us east side Pleasantonians to access our downtown. This is especially crucial while the Fair is ongoing.

Thanks from patrons of downtown Pleasanton

I'm one of the artists painting and participating in ARTBLOCK on Wl Angela with about 20 other artists. Sure hope it won't be as hot as it's been.....

I agree that a little reconfiguring would be great, with additional Food vendors on the Bernal End of Main Street :) Just saying ~ I understand there is a Waiting List for Food Vendors that would like to participate, bringing in more money for the PDA, City.... Why make them wait?

Oh great, another dogfest courtesy of the entitled masses of Pleasanton who believe that their perfectly behaved won't bite loves everyone dog belongs on the hot and crowded street.

Please, leave the dogs at home! They don't deserve to walk on that hot pavement and the people attending the event do not deserve to be sniffed and slobbered on by your animals.
