I am extremely upset about all the hoop-la on this so called huge spirit run...streets to be closed from 5 or 6am til 11am....which they were not closed until almost 8am....the run down Rose Ave lasted less then 10 minutes and the the powers that be from the Rotary Club, City officals and police had the area cleared by 8:30...

I would like to recommend that the spirit run be held in the business parks on the week-ends since the streets could be closed without disrupting people's personal lives.

It was so encouraging to be a 5 K racer starting under the arch in Pleasanton for the Father's Day Spirit Run. Your downtown is family-friendly, wholesome and inviting. It would have such a different spirit if it were away from where Pleasanton natives go to grab brunch with the family, select strawberries at the Farmers' Market and slow down with a cup of Joe at Dean's Cafe. So excited to have healthy refreshments such as iced bottled water and freshly washed apples. Can't wait to race in the Halloween Run. I wish more races would take place in nostaglic Downtown Pleasanton on Main Street.
