Alameda County doing work on unincorporated Livermore roads

Livermore residents and commuters can expect road closures, detours and other driving impacts at a number of unincorporated roadways beginning later this month due to the Alameda County Public Works Agency’s chip seal program.

County officials said in a statement that the road maintenance will occur from July 26 to Aug. 6 between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

During those two weeks, people driving through unincorporated areas of town will experience delays up to 30 minutes, loose rock on the roadways, flaggers, reduced speeds and single-lane traffic through work zones.

Officials advise drivers to plan extra travel time, to slow down and to adhere to traffic control signage. While the schedule may change due to weather, equipment breakdowns and other unforeseen circumstances, the planned program schedule is as follows:

Week One:

July 26: Wente Street at Concannon Boulevard – through Marina Avenue

July 26: Marina Avenue at Wente Street – through Arroyo Road

July 27: Arroyo Road at Mile Marker 3.93 – end at county right-of-way at park entrance

July 28: Patterson Pass Road at Mile Marker 6.9 – end at San Joaquin County line

July 29: Street sweeping at Wente Street / Marina Avenue / Arroyo Road

July 30: Street sweeping at Patterson Pass Road

Week Two:

Aug. 2: Patterson Pass Road at Mile Marker 4.9 – end at Mile Marker 6.9

Aug. 3: Patterson Pass Road at Mile Marker 3.2 – end at Mile Marker 4.9

Aug. 4: Patterson Pass Road at corner of South Flynn Road – end at Mile Marker 3.2

Aug. 5: Patterson Pass Road at Mile Marker 0.2 – end at corner of South Flynn Road

Aug. 6: Street Sweeping at Patterson Pass Road.
