It's so hard since we can't buy the N95. But there are lots of options for items you have at home, even a vacuum cleaner bag material! Web Link

Government competence at its finest.

There are some washable masks available from etsy. You can also DIY and insert some air filter pad.

Only Democrat Governments could make shelter in- place mandatory, while at the same time allowing subways to run without restrictions..

Only. Democrat. Governments.

So stupid.

C’mon Dan. Republican governors aren’t looking like mental whizzes. Plenty of coverage on their contradictory comments. So no, not Only. Democrat. Governments.

Nor the President who speaks and writes at the 4th grade level and who has been recently boasting on Twitter that the White House Press Briefings have better viewership ratings than Monday Night Football and The Bachelor Finale.

We agree, our elected leaders are not serving our interests well.

State with the highest incidents of COVID?

All Democrat controlled.

Please name the Republican Governors to whom you are referring so that I can compare. If not, you're just talking for talking sake.

Mr. Scientist,

Still waiting for your rebuttal regarding that "study" you referred to yesterday.

@DKHSK

I'm unable to comment on that thread anymore, Dan, since the PW locked up that thread and I'm not a registered user (and refuse to register with the PW). But even if I were still able to respond on that thread the problem is that you apparently didn't understand my point about Dr. Vladimir Zelenko. You also made a number of statements which had no relevance to the study in question.

@DKHSK wrote "State with the highest incidents of COVID? All Democrat controlled."

Your point has no point. We already know that there are many asymptomatic cases of coronavirus and that the number of confirmed infections is much less than the actual number of infections, so a count of confirmed infections often tells us more about how many coronavirus tests are available in a community than how many actual cases of coronavirus there are in that community.

Counting the number of actual deaths due to coronavirus is a more reliable indicator of how hard a community is being hit by coronavirus, and the results are not good for many states in the South:

"The South is likely to have America’s highest death rate from covid-19" - The Economist
"It has unusually unhealthy residents and few ICU beds"

"If covid-19 does infect most Americans, the highest death rates will probably not be in coastal cities—whose density is offset by young, healthy, well-off populations and good hospitals—but rather in poor, rural parts of the South and Appalachia with high rates of heart disease and diabetes. Worryingly, the three states that announced plans this week to relax their lockdowns (Georgia, Tennessee and South Carolina) are all in this region."

Newsom and Cuomo are certainly in full campaign mode for 2024 if not a last minute switcharoo with Biden dropping out to “spend more time with the bad boys.” Yet their constituents only have TDS in their brains. Hilarious if it wasn’t such partisan tragedy.

Mr. Scientist,

New York State has almost 40% of all deaths in the US due to the virus.

FORTY PERCENT.

And you want to compare the ENTIRE Southern part of the US?

Are you REALLY a scientist? I mean...REALLY?

After checking with the CDC, there are roughly:

-140k cases of the virus in the South comprising of 12 (TWELVE) states.

-252k cases in New York ALONE.

So again, tell me how the South is really fairing out in this crises?

"The South is 'LIKELY...'"

LOL

This is a guess (some would probably say 'hope') of those on the left.

People need to learn to read and understand that which is precisely written.

"LIKELY"

Emphasis mine.

To put my comparison between New York and the South into perspective, the total population of the Southern States is roughly 110 million. The total population of New York is just 19.5 million.

So, at roughly 5x the population of New York, the entire south has around 100k fewer cases of COVID than does New York.

FACT.

And people like Kathleen and Mr. Scientist will sit there and tell you that REPUBLICANS are the ones not looking like whizzes?!

I'm still waiting on who of the Republicans is looking terrible in this mess.

The Governor of Michigan (a Democrat) won't even allow the buying of seeds through this, and yet you blame Republicans?

Shameless.

Dan, neither side looks great. Said before, no angels. Want to talk about injecting bleach? I mean it will kill the virus. A win! And the patient—not so much.

@DKHSK,

First of all, correlation is not causality. Just because there is some correlation, it doesn’t mean there is a cause-effect. Perhaps it’s related to population density, what do you think? And you can’t just cherry-pick the examples that work for you. You want to talk about liberal cities, why not San Francisco? It looks like they have done an amazing job to contain COVID-19. Also, a republican mayor would do things differently in NYC? How?

Hey Gina,

Why did you delete my response about what the President REALLY said?

It fell within the guidelines of comment.

No need to post anything Dan, I saw what was said.
