Folks - If the measure passes, not all of the money collected will go towards upgrading our schools. Please do not be fooled. Most of the money will go towards paying the pension for retired teachers, city officials, police, etc. If you look at the pension obligations for the City of Pleasanton, you can see that they do not have enough money beyond 2020 to fund the pensions. If the put a measure in the name of schools, city officials know that most residents will be inclined to pay. I supported Measure I1, but will definitely not support Measure M.

There is no committed projects or timelines for any of the proposed funds. This is absolutely a revenue stream security play with zero accountability around what these funds are committed to deliver.

Why collect money from the families in Pleasanton?

Why not collect money from companies like Workday, Veeva, Roche, Oracle, Thermo Fisher that are hugely profitable and got a big tax break.
