State Sen Mark DeSaulnier - Behaving Badly - Super Salaries

Original post made by Registered Joe, Another Pleasanton neighborhood, on May 5, 2014

Our State Senator, Mark DeSaulnier, has proposed legislation to punish companies that pay their CEOs higher compensation than he thinks is justified. The punishment is in the form of a higher state corporate tax rate.

This is wrong on many different levels, beginning with the idea that a company's compensation to its execs or workers is the company's business (literally!), not the State's.

Why is he doing this? It won't pass any sort of review and it will be absolutely trounced in the courts if it gets that far. Answer - Mr. DeSaulnier is running for Congress for the 11th district. What a great way to generate votes and publicity.

He's already received the endorsement from the SF Chronicle. Oh boy, here we go.

Any CEO brought in to restructure the company by axing people who've worked for the company for all their adult lives deserves to make at least 30 million per year. It's tough cutting bodies for company profits, and it takes a lot of college training. I rest my case.

Only under Obama would someone have the audacity to suggest this Maxist claptrap that goes against the state's interests. Start setting maximum wage caps and companies that create jobs like Google and Apple will relocate headquarters and people - meaning less tax money in state coffers and higher poverty, more people on welfare - thus necessitating more new taxes (e.g., a Democrat's dream). I bet Mr. DeSaulnier has no problems with the ridiculous salaries of his ilk - like corrupt ex-Democrat politicans getting $160K/year in do-nothing positions on the Water Resources board. What a joke...but I guess those people on da welfare or who think they deserve $15/hour for frying a hamburger are all for it.

Mr. DeSaulnier will always vote left wing because he knows the others will always vote against him - so he placates his constituents. Point in case - when the CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS voted themselves a 64% raise, he was the only dissenting vote - he still got that and every other raise yearly since; while voting for the County's largest & lowest paid group of workers to take 20%+ pay cuts so they're the lowest paid in their class (obviously senior clerk are being over paid at $42K/yr - take home of less than $30k/yr after paying healthcare for CCHP and mandatory $450/mo towards retirement, plus high tax rate--they can't afford a home-most rent). Senior clerks, by the BOS opinion/actions should be minimum wage part time workers like Walmart. DeSaulnier only votes to placate his constituents in visible ways when he can be a "rebel."

Yes, William Tell is quite right. I've been saying this for a long time. Anyone who supports a higher minimum wage (especially when the workers are black), or who supports a higher tax on companies that pay their white CEOs in the tens of millions, must be a Marxist. Because Karl Marx was always writing about lifting black unskilled workers' minimum wage and taxing white CEOs. Oh, yeah, and he was really for the state too, as long as it wasn't filled with blacks drawing high pensions.

It certainly didn't take long for mittens to pull out the race card in his post above. Is that that only card in your short deck or does your deck only contain spades? What have you got against educated, successful white people anyway? Were you denied jobs because of your lack of skill, but then infer the employer must hire you based on your pigment, regardless?

You seem to know a lot about Karl Marx- maybe this mentor of yours could teach you a thing or two about working in a collective.

Yeah, Zoilo, it's amazing the way Marxists (like DeSaulnier -- born in Socialist France?) want to put successful white people in Maoist collective education camps. You and dillusioned others can just keep playing that race card, when we know the blacks want the positions vacated by those who are being moved to the collectivist Goolog.

DeSaulnier is an idiot. There is no other way to slice it.
He is going to author a bill to charge .05 per mile for every mile California residents drive within the State of California.
He states, "if you use it, pay for it."
He forgets, we already pay for it, gas tax, sales tax, property tax, income tax, etc.
