Livermore cop’s leg broken as police break up drunken gathering

I truly hope the Livermore Police Officer Association should back this Officer fully when he sues the crap out of both teens and their parents….many millions are in order here!

Yeah, 40 entry level because all the “senior” cops are retiring at 45. Broken leg? Give me a break. I broke a leg snow boarding some years back, but didn’t have taxpayer money to pay all the medical bills.

This is no joking matter. We’re all broke. All you have to do is do the math. I have no more money to give to the unionized donut squads. When someone attacks a Peace Officer while that officer is in the attempt of doing their job…..then all bets are off and frankly escalation of force is then immediate and swift…..and In the process should some young man or woman who regardlessa if they are or are not under the influenence provokes this attack….Suddenly end up with their brains splattered all over the street….too bad! Parents…keep your kids in line…you know if your son or daughter gets out of controlor has anger issues or authority issues. Regardless if they are under the influence or not. And if they are over 18 then they are considered an adult. This Nonsense about lawsuits is not the issue..the issue is the lack of respect many of these young folks have for authority! So if one chooses to live by the Bullet…then they will die by it! Only you can make that choice!

I’m as patriotic as the next person. I think cops should be able to shoot to kill any snotnosed kid who threatens him verbally or physically. And I agree with disgusted that the Founding Fathers’ intentions were to prevent inane and pathetic remarks from reaching the public’s ears. In fact, all satire should be censored, especially in this day and age when our first task is to reclaim this country.

But I’m tired of financing public sector workers with taxpayer money. Our peace officers don’t produce like workers do in the private sector. When a worker at Micky D’s breaks a leg, Micky D’s will maybe help pay for it with its profits that are based on that worker’s productivity. But public sector police don’t add any value to the economy. We, the patriotic and loyal taxpayers, end up paying to fix the broken leg. This isn’t fair. I think a private sector police force would be better for our free market, and it wouldn’t have to be any less restrained than the public sector police we have now.

Taxpayer..grow up..spend your time in a more productive way and choke yourself. Although there is no way I will ever change your little mind you can’t have it both ways. The Officer is also a taxpayer..probably more than you because he makes more. If you really hate the cop, why don’t you tell the next one you find leaving your house after climbing off your wife…you know she likes real men ..not you.

Dear Truth, I think you are being too hard on Taxpayer. I think he’s probably compassionate toward cops but he embraces a fiscal conservativism that places emphasis where it should be, on those of us who pay taxes. I love the police, but I don’t want to support their union and their early retirements, especially since they don’t produce additive value like private sector workers do. Lastly, since police officers are also taxpayers, you’d think they’d see it’s in their own self interest to take less money from all taxpayers. I’d call this severe fiscal conservativism, of a compassionate kind.

Police forces aren’t privatized in big cities, either. So I’m not sure what your point is, Truth. And you’re seven times more likely to die as a lumberjack than as a cop. So sometimes I think this whole “hero” bit is manufactured and sold on tv. Lumberjacks clear land, load trucks, process wood into paper products and furniture. The companies they work for make PROFITS. If their bosses don’t like them, they get fired, unless they belong to a union which is really bad because then they can’t get fired when their bosses don’t like them. But the point is they make something. Cops don’t, the public pays them with their taxes, and has no say in whether to fire them or not. That’s because the cops aren’t beholden to us patriotic taxpayers who are paying their salaries. No, they’re beholden to their union, and that’s bad. Lumber workers usually don’t get paid for time off when they’re injured, unless they’re unionized, but that’s bad. Get the picture?

We agree that the market is down, way down. The Dow Jones hasn’t been this far below 13,000 since Jimmy Carter. Which means the current leadership in the White House is bad, really bad. It’s good you’re so truthful about this, Truth.

We need to privatize police forces, because the state is too big, we can’t afford police, and we’re verging on a police state. We can’t sustain this, as it functions as one huge liability. I make over 250K but that isn’t very much and I can’t afford to pay my exorbitant taxes. I’m broke. I feel bad for the cop who got beat up by some kids, and wish he had shot them all. But when the state asks for more taxes from us, it’ll be doing so at the barrel of a gun held by the Livermore Police Officers. I want a privatized police force that protects us from the tyrannical state. Big picture? 2nd Amendment.

Worker’s Compensation. Now that’s an interesting entitlement term. Once again, thank the loony left and union agitators for the law. If unions would keep their big noses out of everyone’s business, we’d be better off as a country. Worker’s Compensation. Indeed!

You get hurt at work while performing your job, and you think that you should lose pay and pay your own medical bills? Seriously?
Wow… that would really encourage companies to provide safe working conditions.
I agree unions have outlived their usefulness. Especially the ones that want huge pay increases and don’t want to contribute to increased health care costs or retirement like the rest of us. And the unions that protect bad teachers or other people that would be fired in any private setting.

But I would hardly call worker’s compensation entitlement.

Workers Compensation, Madam, is indeed an entitlement, and I would argue an unjust one. People should save enough money to support themselves in the event of an accident. And when they are made dependent upon the Nanny State, that just makes the state even more powerful. (See Obama’s tyranny.) Individuals need to get bigger. The state doesn’t need to get bigger. And this means paying your own way or maybe sometimes taking handouts from charities. But not from the State which is propped up on MY money taken with highway robbery taxes.

Safe working environment? Why should that be a matter for the state? This just puts extra burdens on our job-creating heroes. If workers don’t like dangers or the fumes they are free to quit. That’s what living in a free society is all about. I can have an unsafe and unhealthy work environment if I want to, and you can work there or not. Anything else is socialism.

I’m glad we agree on the unions being the source of all this madness. They’re responsible for workers comp, and they’re responsible for the enormous gaggle of bad teachers we have in Pleasanton. And we have to pay them way too much. In the free marketplace, we could probably employ them for peanuts. But the union has to stick its nose into everything. When that poor police officer is lying around with his leg in a cast, just remember that the state, with union nudging, has put him in a dependent relationship from which he may never recover. Stalin was a master at doing this, and look where it got the Russian people.

Yes Mom, why anyone would have read the full comment or have engaged in a conversation with “Point!” is asking for it. “Point!”, who in their opening line stated that they are patriotic, then went on to say that citizens should be shot to death for verbal threats is clearly irrational and unstable…maybe we will get to see their true identity on an episode of that National Geographic Channel TV show Doomsday Preppers 🙂 …they kinda fit the profile you know shoot to kill and government conspiracies out to get you and all that you work for!

Forgot to add – I will gladly support these unions and gladly pay more taxes in order to have these ladies and gentlemen put their lives on the line to protect my family, my friends and my neighborhood. I am in support of their retirement…it is a “thank you” for the dangerous job they do on behalf of the community.
