General Plan, supporting EIR ready for review

After five years of public meetings, City Council and Planning Commission workshops and years of research, analysis and revisions, the city's new General Plan for 2005-2025 and its supporting Environmental Impact Report are completed and ready for another round of public review and comments.

If you have any concerns at all regarding local politics, you'll take the time to consider these documents.

The astonishing thing is that the general plan (and EIR) call for a 46% increase in traffic. And that is with the Stoneridge extension in place. Can you imagine what that will do to our City of Planned progress. We cannot simply keep growing, growing and growing. We will implode. But, no one cares. THe developers keep developing and making money and we keep stuffing more people into what was once a very nice place to live. What legacy are we leaving for our kids.

46% increase in traffic and no one seems to care (or notice).
