Where will the low income housing be?

Original post made by resident, Another Pleasanton neighborhood, on Oct 23, 2011

I am looking at a map and am trying to figure out where the low income housing will be built. Is it by Hacienda/Gibraltar? Will it be in the unused space? Does someone know the exact location (streets)

Site one is South and Southeast of the Owens Dr. and Willow Rd intersection.

Site two is North and Northwest of the Gibraltar Dr and Hacienda Dr intersection.

Why is it immediately assumed to be low income housing?

I think most would assume it is low income housing because the state sued the city for not providing enough low income housing and told us to plan for more. We all know that 'affordable housing' is another way of saying 'subsidized, low-income'. I don't think the city will be providing 6,000 to 8,000 square foot homes that are 'affordable'.

Stacey, I assume you have read the new Housing Element that was presented to the states since you keep up on these things. The Housing Element was updated to provide much more low-income housing.
