Electrical Explosion in Pleasanton 4/14/2011

Original post made by Pleasanton Resident, Another Pleasanton neighborhood, on Apr 14, 2011

Does anyone know what caused the electrical explosion inside the manpower on the sidewalk at the Northwest corner of Bernal and First Street? PG&E crew was working there. There was a man with a special poking stick (rubber fork tip) ready to work (on walkie-talkie) and explosion occurred. I was next to it in my car. 3 explosions within 2 minutes while waiting for the traffic light to turn green! My wife reported another load explosion somewhere in Pleasanton about 20 minutes later. We live more than 2 miles from the site of the original explosion.

Our power went out after several loud bangs and surges right after 7. Similar thing happened a couple of weeks ago and our electricity was out for about 12 hours. Would love to know what is going on.

I was there too. Right after the explosion an old man with long, gray hair and driving a DeLorean appeared out of nowhere, then went speeding down First Street...
