What's with the alphabet scramble?

Original post made by tango, Vineyard Avenue, on Nov 9, 2010

Now when you want to make a comment , you have to type a coded alphabet. What's with that? Somewhere along the way I mist the importance of this exersize. I think with a little training my dog could do it.

If you teach your dog to do that, get it on video, you could make some money on youtube

In the meantime, look here for more info Web Link

Is this Tango with a capital "T" who forgot his "T" and made it a "t"? Or is it a Tango imposter?

Maybe the alphabet scramble isn't doing the job...

This is the second time this question has appeared. Most people that go to this site wonder what the verification code is for. PW, since you read these posts, why in the he** don't you just answer the question? Since you are avoiding asking the question, it leaves us to assume you are up to no good, like tracking who is making posts.

Stacey is a registered user.

The "alphabet scramble" (I love that description!) is a method by which the PW is trying to avoid posts made by programs that automatically post spam.

A suggestion for the PW is to put the "alphabet scramble" on registration and then remove the requirement to input the verification code for users who are logged in, leaving the scramble requirement for non-authenticated posters. It would provide an incentive to post while registered by providing another benefit to registration.
