2 BILLION in Military Aid to Pakistan?

Original post made by Not Good, Downtown, on Oct 22, 2010

"The Obama administration Friday pledged to seek $2 billion in military aid to Pakistan over five years to help that country defeat violent extremism. The pledge came at a bilateral dialogue at which Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said his government will give "no space" to terrorists on its soil."

Curious how and why we continue to shell out Trillions in "Aid" (borrowed money) at the tax payers expense, while our own nation is sinking economy wise and we are a County in Severe DEBT.

Curious that it's a known fact that Pakistan funded the terrorists that pulled off 911, however being "allies" we invaded another Country that had nothing to do with 911.

Curious that Osama Bin Laden operated unfettered out of Pakistan and that Pakistan refused to take any measures related to all the Al Qaeda training camps on there soil in the border regions.

Curious that we find out recently to no surprise that the U.S. CIA has paid billions to the Taliban in exchange for "safe passage" of out supply trucks. CIA is handing out CASH like candy all over the world.

Curious that the U.S. had LOST track of billions in CASH and weapons in both of these wars.

Curious that when we invaded Afghanistan, DICK CHENEY'S HALLIBURTON was indicted for BILKING the American Public for trillions in past wars, however the company received a NO BID open ended contract fro both Afghanistan and Iraq. We bomb entie infrastructure and Halliburton rebuilds at astronomical over priced fee's.

In essence, in both Countries we are FUNDING the very insurgents that continue to maim and kill our troops! This is a BUSINESS and a vicious cycle at best.

War is BIG Business and Big Business prevails.

We as U.S. Citizens are PAWNS in the greater corrupt scheme of non partisan Government corruption.

Given the tough tasks for the Pakistanian military, we should allocate more funds for them to hunt down Bin Laden and gang for us. Its good to know President Obama is on the right track.

Really! To fight violent extremism! Sounds like the same debacle of fighting the war on drugs! That's been ongoing for 40 years (or something like that) and drug use/abuse has only escalated in that time.
How about we spend the $2billion in our country or, better yet, not spend/borrow the $2billion to begin with. Like my parents taught me, money doesn't grow on trees and you can't spend it if you don't have it to spend.

Don't miss out on the discussion!
