Somewhere to lay our Pets

Original post made by Christy Classen, Stoneridge, on Aug 20, 2010

I have been wondering for years actually why we don't have a pet cemetery in our town or in or around the trivalley, I know that not only me but many people would like to have some where to go to put flowers and reflect, pray or just go to knowing where your pet is buried and that they meant something to you and your family on this earth. I don't want my veterinary to have the responsibility to take care of my pets remains, I also know there are times when they need to I think it is up to the pet owner, but for me I want to be the one to have the choice to have a head stone made and have her buried here in my town legally and be able to go there when I choose, I wonder how many others would like to have some where to lay their pet too.

How about any trash can or the nearest dumpster. It's free and quick. If your fish dies simply flush it down the toilet. Problem sloved, now enjoy that new puppy or kitten.

You might want to consider a special spot in your yard. Or, a place where you know your pet enjoyed long as it's legal to bury it there. I've buried a pet near the ocean, in Humboldt county.

In regards to the two comments I recieved about a tri-valley pet cemetary I just wanted to clarify, I'm not talking about haveing services for a goldfish, I would flush it down the toilet too, but look down Main St. theres dog water bowls outside of every restuarant,Pets for alot of people are their family, I'm just saying I would like somewhere around here to bury my pet instead of the pet being put into a giant incinerator and cremated with hundreds of other pets and dumped in a mass pit, If I had the choice and the money to due something else.
