STUDIO 7 NON-EVENT

Original post made by Art Critic, Another Pleasanton neighborhood, on Mar 20, 2010

So, I get an email from Studio 7 saying to come down cause "We're moving on"! Okay, so I thought it was a farewell party or something like that because the email was vague. Although I had never been treated kindly by the women owners (too snooty and condescending)I decided to let by-gones be by-gones and at least say good-bye because they at least had brought nice art to Main Street. When I got there I saw some people nicely dressed in their Tommy Bahamas and thought what a nice art gathering. As I walked in there were people walking around, but nothing else. I thought a little wine and cheese (isn't that the essence of an art gathering), maybe a little notice on what "Moving On" was, but nothing. I walked around 2 or 3 times, felt stupid and left. The youngest daughter talked the entire time with one person, the other employee talked to one person, everyone else was staring at each other. NOTHING! I left (disappointed) and saw a number of people nicely dressed going into the place. Well, I remembered why I don't think very kindly of Studio 7.

Whoa! Are we FINALLY getting rid of these "we-are-so-much-better-than-you" people?!? They took over the best corner in town and couldn't make it work, wonder why. How about the attitudes, as described above, and the overly expensive stuff that they carried? I have spent lots of money in there, OK not smart but I did it, and I was never even once treated as anything other than scum of the earth. The Mom needs to get the meds adjusted and the oldest daughter needs to realize that she does NOT actually walk on water. The youger daughter could be nice if a bit of a space cadet at times.
It would even be nice to have another pasta place on that corner, way better than those snooty &^%$#@! trying to be so exclusive that they keep out the unwashed masses. Hmmmmmm, maybe the tattoo/piercing parlor that was rumored a while back to be going in can open up on that corner.

I agree "long time resident"!!! I am always treated like pond scum when I walk in there. But when I finally realized it was fake-class with "wanna-be cooler than you" attitudes, I waved a small flag of appreciation of their departure.
