SDE SEIR Not News Worthy?

Original post made by Pleasanton Resident, Mohr Park, on Oct 27, 2009

Press Release excerpts:

"Conservation groups and neighbors have reached a settlement
agreement with the city of Pleasanton after a lawsuit challenged an inadequate environmental review for the proposed Staples Ranch development and Stoneridge Drive extension."

"Pleasanton is prohibited from any ground-disturbing activities that would significantly alter the site (other than construction activities along the eastern edge of the project site associated with the development of Livermore’s El Charro Specific Plan, such as the
construction of El Charro Road) until 30 days after a final decision regarding the project,to give the groups a chance to assess and challenge the new approvals. The city will hold a new public hearing on the supplemental review and reconsider the project approvals in light of the new information."

Interesting that the article describes an opposing group as being a conservation group. What is to conserve? This is an infill, disturbed site next to a major freeway, bounded by a concrete flood control channel, which will soon be adjoining a freeway interchange and another major development in Livermore. I look forward to senior housing, a community park, retail revenue, and Stoneridge Drive completion SOON.

The plan for Stoneridge tog o through was in place long before Mohr school or any of the surrounding houses were built. Stoneridge was a quiet 2 lane road east of Santa Rita and all those houses came in a destroyed my quiet neighborhood and quality of life. Now they have the audacity to shut down Stoneridge extension and any development saying that it will ruin their quiet neighborhood and quality of life. There are word I would use, but they are inappropriate here.

Smells like an inside deal to defraud the residents of Pleasanton. Just an excuse with gyrations to bring it back before the Council for another vote. These zealots are so selfish, deceitful & criminal....just abusing the system. Can't play by the rules.
and such GIANT POLLUTERS !! S H A M E on them for being SO distructive to the environment. WHY would they want people to drive 3 times farther than necessary ??

Don't miss out on the discussion!
