Friends set up 'thank you' fund for Danville Councilman Shimansky

Danville Councilman Mike Shimansky's condition is stable, say friends, but the bills are inevitably mounting.

Mike is a great guy with a wonderful family...He has always been there when anyone needed help so now is the time for us to step up to the plate and help him!

"medical costs beyond insurance coverage"

Which means we can count him amongst the nation's growing population of underinsured. Will this poor fellow end up as our local poster child for health care reform? Think you have great health coverage? Pray you don't get bacterial meningitis! At least Mr. Shimansky is lucky enough to have a community willing to support him with donations while many others do not. I wish him the best on his recovery.
