Thought experement part 2 "The Left"

Original post made by M, Downtown, on Aug 7, 2009

It has come to my attention that I have been a bit harsh on “the right” as of late with my random thought experiments and the like. As such it is time to visit the other side of the political game.

Just as before I would like to know why exactly you did not like McCain. The same rules apply as in the last challenge. Was it because of his age? Was it because he is not a member of your political party? Just as before please no canned answers, party tag lines or sound bite worthy quotes.

This time I do want to make it clear, that this is not meant as an attack on either camp, or any individual or their beliefs. The reason I ask these questions is because I hear so many people simply repeat what they are told on the news, or what the politico blogs prattle on and on with. This leads me to think that regardless of intent people are not thinking for themselves in many cases. I could go on and on about the psychological mechanisms at play which causes this kind of “group think” but I’m quite sure that is beyond the scope of this simple topic, and nobody is all that interested in such things. So without further excessive verbiage please do tell us what you did not like about McCain.

Short and sweet eh?

I did not like his choice of running mate. In American politics there are plenty of women he could have chosen from who I would not have taken issue with. I believe he chose one of the least qualified, least experienced, and least knowledgeable. I have difficulty believing she was best and brightest that the party had to offer, and want to see the first woman in that role be a strong woman that is a woman our kids can look up to
