memorial for Pleasanton marine

Original post made by member, Birdland, on Aug 2, 2009

I have just read that that young marine who killed himself in Pleasanton is having a memorial. Please let us join together and celebrate the life of this young soldier who truly is a hero. His life ended in a tragic and saddening way. But I have been told he lived his life in a whole, full and special way. Let us celebrate that! Let us focus on the good and not what was lost.

The memroial is
Saturday, August 8 at 6pm, Amador Valley Community Park, 4301 Black Avenue in Pleasanton.

I hope the whole community comes out to support the family and celebrate the life of this brave and special man we all lost too soon

Thank you for getting the word out about the memorial service. Everyone please try to be sensitive to the family's feelings when commenting publicly on the circumstances of this young man's death.

I feel great sorrow for this Marine. Over the years, I have known many veterans. Anybody that experiences a war first hand is NEVER the same. It is the most traumatic toxic work environment imaginable. May this good Marine Rest In Peace.

He is with Hashem.

I would also like to stress the topic of sensitivity when commenting on his passing. The have not publicly announced the cause to my knowledge, it is only implied. Just put yourself in their shoes first. Please come and support his remembrance

Sorry, but further commenting on this topic has been closed.
