I heard Cindy McGovern refer to the 70th anniversary of this 1929 classic twice at the City Council meeting on Tuesday. Now it's in the Weekly. Is my math off or does 1929 + 70 really equal 2009? Oh brother.

I hope that the free showing introduces a whole new generation to this classic! I have to admit I have a soft spot for it, as it was one of my grandmother's favorites

The Wizard of Oz was made in 1939 - so they had the right anniversary, just the wrong creation date...
