You are feeding into a mob-mentality on both sides.

I just cannot believe the yes people are being characterized as simply stupid and emotional and the no people are being characterized as mean spirited and haters of kids and this community.

STOP! Our kids read these forums. If they read how destructive we are being, how will they treat each other? How are we any better than a community that resorts to violence? Where do you think all this anger will go and what do you think happens to it all? It multiplies.

That is not what this community is about. We all love the kids and the schools and the teachers. If you are frustrated with the election results or comments on this forum or other about either side, then stop and refocus your energy into something that will actually help the situation.

Was this vote just all about winning a campaign or getting things right at the district for all of our kids and schools?

Stop feeding the mob with more energy.

Write a check if your vote didn't win; write a letter of your suggestions to the Board if your vote did.

Stop Already,

Some of us would like to get productive. My neighbor is bringing her "yes vote" check to the district meeting tonight with a box for other donations.

I think she is brave. That's what it is going to take in a community where we have become more comfortable saying things bad/good on a computer than in person.

I am going to write a letter to the Board today as you suggested and give a donation also...regardless of how I voted.

I think that is a great idea. I'll be bringing my check too and suggest others do the same. Maybe we should all email our friends with that suggestion.

Our kids read these forums?? Really?? I'm with you on the message, but high school kids do not read the Pleasanton Weekly forums.

I posted this on another thread but it seems to fit here as well. It is in responce to a Pro G'er trying to say it's up to the No G'ers now.
Karen- I worried Pro G’ers would respond as you have. " are up to bat" comment is sad. I pray that other Pro G’ers don't try to throw their hands up and walk away saying that they have tried and now are done. "...when it is turned over to you" Sounds like you have washed your hands of the situation when you are the ones that have been saying all along you were more concerned with the children. Take your bat and go home, fine. It's up to all No G'ers' and Pro G'ers that care about kids, or whatever their reasons are (like home values, etc.) to roll up their sleeves and get to work, together as a team. "I would never turn down a donation so please don't take it as criticism" makes it sound as if you are a teacher, so if you are giving up quit and go somewhere else. You are one of the problems if money is all you care about. If you care about kids then the fight is just starting not over and done with. I look forward to both Pros and Cons coming up with ideas, how to implement the ideas, and how to judge their effectiveness.
I hope that the above posters on this thread keep up the good work!

Oh yes we DO read these forums! How else can we get any idea about what the "parents" are thinking? We LEARN a lot from these forums.

High School Kid - Bad idea. I am Jesus Christ. Listen and learn from what I say. It can be anyone from anywhere who writes anything here. Talk to parents and their friends to get information, or better yet do your homework and exercise. I assume that you are not in high school., oh wait I'm Jesus, I know you are not in high school.
