Water Smell is AWFUL!

Original post made by Cynthia, Vineyard Hills, on May 27, 2009

My neighbor and I was talking, and she mentioned that she has cleaned her sink, applied a garbage disposer cleaner, and her sink still had a funny odor. She then noticed after filling a pot with water, that it was her water that smelled. We came over to my kitchen, and sure enough it had a odor....what is causing the smell. Anyone else notice this?

The water company has said due to the drought they are using more groundwater. This is why many have noticed a white residue on glasses when washed in a dishwasher. Possibly the water has a lot of sulfur in it. Just a guess, but better than the alternative of getting ‘grey water’ or water that is mixed with doo doo. Have them test it, they will.
