CSR is NOT guaranteed by Measure G
Original post made by Ptown resident, Another Pleasanton neighborhood, on May 15, 2009
Ask parents what they want to see PUSD keep, and many of them will say CSR.
Measure G does NOT guarantee that CSR as it exists in PUSD schools today will continue with the passage of a parcel tax.
The ballot language says Measure G will "keep class sizes small."
It does not state that the pupil teacher ratio for kindergarten classes will be 20:1.
It does not state that pupil teacher ratio for grades 1-3 and 9th grade
classes will be 25:1.
If Measure G passes, PUSD is ONLY committed to follow the language of the parcel tax ballot.
The Pleasanton Unified School District gets to define "small."
Many parents are assuming that CSR as it is today will continue if G passes. THAT IS NOT GUARANTEED.
One parent on another thread contacted PUSD and could not find anyone who would guarantee that if Measure G passes, kindergarten classes would have no more than 20 students per class.
Parents of students entering kindergarten, 1-3 and 9th grade: Please call PUSD and ask them if the passage of Measure G will guarantee class sizes will remain as they are this year.
No PUSD administrator will guarantee in writing what the community has very strongly says it values - CSR.
It isn't guaranteed in the writing of the ballot language either.
Please vote No on G - No Guarantees.
