Original post made by Stacey, Amberwood/Wood Meadows, on May 10, 2009

Just to be clear... PUSD will be receiving Federal Stimulus money from different parts of ARRA.

The State Fiscal Stabilization Fund is Division A, Title XIV of ARRA. (Web Link) The CDE announced this weekend that PUSD is entitled to roughly $4.2MM to restore cuts to the revenue limit. In June we shall find out how much from SFSF PUSD will be getting to restores cuts to the categorical funds.

PUSD is also getting $2.5MM from Division A, Title IX of ARRA (Web Link) that helps fund IDEA, also called special ed.

It's good news! Please let your favorite teachers know!

Please read the opening paragraph in the first Web Link posted by Stacey keeping in mind that revenue limit = salary.

Here's another Web Link from the Department of Education explaining the State Fiscal Stabilization Fund.

Web Link picked up the story after Jack McConnell announced it on Saturday morning:aWeb Link He said “These funds will have an immediate and noticeable impact on California’s K-12 and higher education systems by helping schools keep teachers and other important staff employed..."

Will local news agencies headline good news? I doubt it. It would be such a shame to waste a good crisis.
