Flood risks mount if Delta levees not rebuilt, report says

The risk of flooding near the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta is likely to increase substantially over the next century if a new levee system is not implemented, according to a report released Friday by the California Department of Water Resources.

and yet they want to blow how much on trying to make Stanley pretty?

Time to use those infrastructure funds for fixing the real hazards like inspecting and repair/ replacing Levees and bridges.

An ugly but functional street is not going to kill anyone, we sure don't need the next big man made disaster happening here.

The delta residents should take care of their own infrastructure thank you very much. Stanley needs to be fixed to facilitate shopping access.

I could be wrong but I think the last levee break was caused by muskrats burrowing through the levee...

I seem to recall a fisherman on the levee saw the seepage and before he could report it, it blewout...
