Plan Bay Area Will Not Go to Vote of the People

Original post made by agree, Birdland, on Jul 12, 2013

I had to laugh so hard when I read a paper yesterday with an article on Plan Bay Area with ABAG and MTC dictating what our housing will look like and taking away local control. When the elected officials at ABAG and MTC were asked to bring the plan to a vote of the people, those elected officials said that would not work as the voters would not understand the plan.

They are probably right here. These elected officials are saying that the people who voted them into office are not that smart. I would have to agree with that.

Vote for good people and let them do their jobs. When "the people" try to write laws, policies and plans on their own, it often times is ruled illegal when challenged in court, see Pleasanton's Housing Element, and gay marriage...
