Nice to know that Congressman Swalwell is such a staunch supporter of security theater. No terrorist with a knife is ever going to make an airplane crash again. Hardened cockpit doors and wisened passengers mean this 'threat' is simply non-sensical.

Totally agree with Chris. No one can take ever over a plane with a Leatherman tool or pocket knife again; passengers will not let that happen. Wish Congressman Swalwell would find time for more important matters, such as the fiscal mess.

Well, looks like we got rid of a meatball (Pete Stark) and got another one (Swalwell).
The flight attendant union seems to be a bunch of meatballs as well. Most passengers are in much more danger from incompetent and (in the case of legacy airlines)feeble flight attendants than they are from someone with a pen knife. Passengers are also much more at risk from booze being dispensed on the plane (drunks and broken bottles as weapons).

Tell Swalwell to pull his head out. 98% of the things that the criminal organization TSA takes from people at our airports don't affect safety on flights.TSA violates our rights every time we go to the airport. We all see that when TSA is tested they fail over 90% of the time. So where is the safety

I don't get it, is a pocket knife such a necessary item, I don't know anybody that carries a pocket knife. Don't those i folks have anything better to focus on?
