McNereny: The man, the myth, the legend! You simply can't hold down a tough Irishman from P-town. Long live J-Mc!

It is great that a Congressman from Pleasanton was re-elected. He comes home every weekend and meets with folks in his District. I like having accessibility to him and get questions answered instead of just bitching about something I don't have enough information on. Good Luck Congressman McNerney and don't let the Demos blow this opportunity to get our country back on track!

Hey, nobody is recognizing the fact that McNerney won again in a gerry-mandered district that has favored Republicans. Does anybody living today in Pleasanton understand that the Congressional 11th district includes Danville, San Ramon, Dublin, Pleasanton, Livermore, Tracy, Manteca, Lodi, and, get this, Morgan Hill in Santa Clara County. Why so weird? To repeat, it was designed to favor Republican candidates.

I'f I'm not mistaken, before the recent election, I read in one of the local newspapers that the 11th District now has a slight edge in Democratic registration...

Don't recall which newspaper - could have been the Valley Times...

The 11th District, I believe, was to be a Democrat-safe area. I wished the gerrymandering of 2000 did not take place.

I too like the idea he was out meeting the Electorate. I was impressed.

As a side note, I am of the opinion that Cong. McNerney's victory was close, not as to what the Pleasanton Weekly referred to as "McNerney overwhelms Andal." He will always have a struggle but let's hope the successes of President-elect Obama will help make it a bit easier for him next time.
