Dear PW: Why not probe Stark and McNerney why they voted to block the Keystone Pipeline which would create over 20,000 jobs?

Original post made by why?, Amador Estates, on Dec 18, 2011

So the American economy is on a death spiral as is our national defense. And our (mis-) Representatives Pete Stark and Jerry McNerney vote AGAINST strengthening our economy, national defense, and our energy independence.

They both...not surprisingly...voted AGAINST the Keystone pipeline (as did most other like-minded America-hating Democrats.)

Pleasanton Weekly is your chance to actually be caught practicing a "random act of journalism" ... by probing them as to why they ... and other democrats... hate this country so much they they want to bring it to its knees and below?

Keystone pipeline is, perhaps, one of the most damaging designs in pipeline in quite sometime. A slurry going over several thousand of miles? Are we that desperate? Sadly, yes.

Do DublinMike,
By your comments, I assume your preferred design -- same position as the dangerous democrat environmental extremists -- would be ... to require the pipeline to be underground instead.

Underground pipelines are exponentially more costly and infinitely more difficult to maintain especially when leaks occur. Also, the pipelines corrode much faster when underground.

But you'd most likely insist they be underground if they are even allowed by democrat congress at all.

Your comment that "we are desperate" for energy is correct...and the reason we are desperate is because the effing democrats are against America's energy independence and economic strength.

If Joe Biden had his way, we would not even have the Alaska pipeline. He voted against it.

I submit to you that America is facing an ENEMY FROM WITHIN as dangerous as alQaeda, or even moreso, and this enemy is the DEMOCRAT PARTY.

You think any of these politicians really have a choice in how they vote? Republican or Democrat are all guided by their caucuses or lobbyists. That's what any probe will figure out.

What hypocrites. The Pelosi Dems preached stop buying petroleum from foreign enemies. We should be trying to use mostly petroleum from our continent, and canada is a friendly neighbor.....of course we have plenty within the US, but Dems won't let us use our own.
Illogical. Hypocritical.
Aside from petroleum for energy uses, jobs, jobs, jobs are our other
other problem. US must generate 280,000 jobs every MONTH for FIVE YEARS, to have the jobs we had at the start of this recession ! !
All intelligent people know both of these issues, so why are we not
moving on that mid-section of pipeline....why radical GREEN POLITICS ! ? ! ?

I am with you, Scream!

Since the PW won't make the effort to probe our mis-Representatives Stark and McNerney, I think we should at least demand a response by the PW as to why they support these anti-American Congressmen. Also why does the PW apparently support the blocking of over 20,000 American jobs from the Keystone Pipeline?

why ? Maybe because of, or in addition to green politics, PW didn't bring up the issue ......our P-town mayor ia campaigning against the pipeline... but, that is stil green politics, isn't it.
