Given that the Ad Hoc Redistricting Committee is Supv Haggerty and Supv Carson (did anyone know that?), I will be VERY surprised if any Redistricting Map other than Map A is recommended for final consideration. Supv Haggerty would like us to believe that hes not pre-judging the plan. REALLY? He and Supv Carson developed the plan - aka Map A. By keeping redistricting completely in-house with the Board of Supervisors (BofS), the supervisors have guaranteed they will get what they want not necessarily what is good for Alameda County residents and their communities.
The BofS portion begins on page 123 of the actual document. I LOLd when I saw that the first two Values the BofS would like us to believe they govern by are:
- Integrity, honesty, and respect fostering mutual trust.
- Transparency and accountability achieved through open communications and involvement of diverse community voices.
So far, I havent seen much of either in this BofS process.
