The Cost Of Freedom=Blood!

Original post made by Rush, Foothill Knolls, on Jun 16, 2009

Since my "RUSH" thread got hijacked, I thought this nasty war topic could continue here:

Don't throw 'em in the ditch.. you might need the ditch for cover.

These terrorists don't take prisoners.. they have no prison camps. They just behead the troops or contractors and leave the bodies hanging from bridges or tossed in the river.

If I've got a 16 man action team on a mission and I capture 10 enemy.. who watches them? Who takes them to the rear? Is there a rear? I've probably jumped in or been dropped by a chopper. If I send 4 troopers out with prisoners, I'm below minimum strength and all my people are at risk.

These are unconventional fighters.. they are not signatories to any Conventions, and shield themselves with women and children. We're gonna sit down and negotiate? We're in the mountains of Afghanistan and we're gonna say "Drop the weapons and put your hands up!" I don't think so.

They go to heaven for killing infidels.. I'm only suggesting we speed up the process. Have you heard the expression.. "Kill 'em all. Let God sort 'em out!"? Marine snipers just want to arrange the meeting.

If someone is running towards me with an AK-47, and hand-grenades or rocket propelled grenades, he's not 'accidentally' in the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm throwin' 3 to center mass. Judge, jury and executioner? He'd do it to me in an instant!

These are people who will slit the throat of an airline cabin attendant.. fly airplanes into buildings.. strap bombs to their children.. detonate truck bombs in public areas.. and would slit your throat given the opportunity.

This is nasty business. War is nasty business. Man's inhumanity to man has existed since the first caveman noticed the cave next door had a pool, and better light. The Sioux at the Little Big Horn didn't take prisoners.. they took scalps. I'm not gonna give you a history lesson.. but, much of war is kill.. or, be killed. I'm not going to 'be killed'!

Sure, I get it that if he poses a threat you have to kill to keep from being killed. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about prisoners. The ones you take as prisoners. Are you saying US forces made a mistake by taking prisoners? Didn't we get a lot of good intel from them? What if we would have shot them on the spot?

Bye the way, do you have real combat command experience?

Hey action heros, did you read the TOPIC I posted? It's about Rush Limbaugh.

BTW- We invaded Iraq and Afghanistan, neither of which had anything to do with the Twin Towers.

I hear you saying that war is just a normal cost of freedom, like it's just fine and dandy.

Iraq war caualty pictures.

Spend ten minutes looking at the babies that have been burned with chemicals, blown apart and worse, BY OUR MISTAKE.

I guess that's just the price of OUR freedom huh?

NOT acceptable!

I've gone as far as I want to go here.

Topic's strayed a bit. But, there's not much intel to get. We don't have bin Laden, do we. Not much of the rest is of any value.

ps. Yes. No. Should have. and Yes.

Copy and paste that link into your browser if it doesn't work.

Take a GOOD look and tell me how you really feel?

Tell me what you would do, and how you would act if we were invaded!

OMG! Thats pretty bad! Rush, sorry for hijacking your Rush thread dude!

This rings true:

"Most Americans are in deep denial that their country would butcher children and civilians, routinely torture, or bomb homes. Yet nearly every American saw this live on CNN with his own eyes on 2003-03-20 when America did its Shock & Awe bombing of the residential sections of Baghdad on the opening day of the war. Granted, they did not see the blood spurting, but they saw apartments full of families being turned to rubble. Everyone knows perfectly well what happens when a bomb hits an apartment. Americans pretend the $2 trillion they borrowed for the war went for reconstruction. If that were so, every Iraqi would be living in a mansion. That money clearly went for mayhem and destruction. Soldiers are trained and paid to kill, not build schools or hand out candy. America has behaved worse than Nazi Germany. Americans plug their ears and say “lah lah lah” as if that would erase their responsibility. How dare they claim to be a Christian nation!"

RUSH - Like it or not it was the 'intentional' bombing of the Twin Towers that has led to this war that results in "unintentional casualties. And by the way, why not google pictures of the dead from the Twin Towers...oh, um, that's not possible since the people were obliterated!

What a dolt!

unclehomerr and mac - stand tall. We need clear thinkers.

The peddlers of leftist propaganda astound me. If we are not willing to fight islamic extremists on their turf, they will gladly take their game to ours -- NEVER, EVER FORGET SEPTEMBER 11, 2001.

Whenever the world has a problem of any magnitude, who do they call? The "can't do" U.N.? The E.U.?, Russia? China? Japan? North Korea? Any Latin American state? Any African state? Any Middle East state? Iran?

No, who do they call? For any serious heavy lifting, they ALWAYS CALL the good ol' U. S. of A.

"Never, never, never believe any war will be smooth and easy, or that anyone who embarks on the strange voyage can measure the tides and hurricanes he will encounter. The statesman who yields to war fever must realize that once the signal is given, he is no longer the master of policy but the slave of unforeseeable and uncontrollable events."

-Sir Winston Churchill

Years ago, I had an original piece of political art. It was several weathered and whitewashed boards.. burned enough to make burn marks on top and bottom. There were 6 handmade nails in it, with rusted barbed wire wound around them in the form of a Star of David. It had the words 'NEVER AGAIN' burned into the wood under the Star.

I'm not Jewish.. but, I'd well up with a tear every time I concentrated on that piece.

Today.. I've got a decal on my truck honoring the firefighters who lost their lives on 9-11 [not nine-one-one, people!] and the comment.. 'Let's Roll' under it. I won't forget.

I had dinner, a month ago, with a retired Nassau County cop who lost a brother [NYPD cop] at the twin towers. Discussing it today, he was nearly as disturbed as he must've been nearly 8 years ago.

There are just some things we never forget. And some things too trivial to remember.. like many of the comments and pettiness here.

Thanks for the encouraging words. Can't speak for mac, but I was ready to 'pack it in' tonight. I think I'll stick around a little longer and try to be a 'clear thinker'. TNX..

I, too, give up then come back...give up then come back. Hopeful that there are still sentinals of freedom amongst us willing to continue to 'stand for something'.

That Churchill quote is chilling/thought provoking. Try as we might, we do lose control of the detail that enwraps our missions.

And who can deny that the campaign being waged against us it not already being brought to our own soil. Keep your eyes and ears opened.

I'll be there standing tall...for my children, and theirs. For my country and what we stand for (or did). For the values that have taken a beating in recent years. For the character of my countrymen and women who, though they vehemently disagree with the HOW, seemingly concur as to WHY we are here, existing as we do for one and for all.
