San Ramon backs out of Washington lobbying alliance to cut $20,000 from its budget

The San Ramon City Council has voted to cancel a contract with Jordan Associates, a consulting group that arranges the annual Tri-Valley mayors' lobbying trip to Washington.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but why do our Cities need Jordan Consulting to set it up every year? We should ALL pull out, make our own arrangements and save a collective 100k! The connections were made years ago and not that much could have changed from the previous trip. Since this is an annual event, they should have it down, by now. Seems ridiculous to spend that kind of money, to set up something so routine.

Anything that gives us liberty from Govt'l regulations and other forms of tyranny should be a priority. If the Federal Government respected state's and local rights, store owners might still be able to exercise their freedom by banning some undesirables from their stores and lunch counters.
