"The idea was to create a roadmap for emissions reductions that is "both realistic and implementable.""
Time to rethink the idea - or better yet push back against the regulations requiring it. They are neither realistic nor implementable without widespread disruptions and intrusion. Some of us like living in a free society, we don't want more government micromanagement, and we don't want to be lectured/shamed to "do without" because the world is supposedly going to end.
We already have rolling blackouts during the summer months because (unreliable) renewable energy sources are insufficient to meet customer demand. This is only going to get worse with the push/requirement to electrify more appliances/buildings/facilities. More bike lanes? How many more traffic bottlenecks is that going to cause by narrowing and/or eliminating lanes for motor vehicles? People who need to go to a grocery store and/or pick up their kids at school are now going to use a bicycle to do so? New garbage collection requirements? Is anyone going to be able to throw anything away anymore - without getting lectured, monitored, or penalized for it?
