"It has been invigorating to watch the Orinda Democrat grow into an effective legislator – to the point she had 15 original bills signed into law during the 2021-2022 session. That collection included legislation on big-picture priorities such as women's rights, mental health care, fire safety and the environment."
The editorial staff is easily amused - or perhaps is simply in the tank for a certain political party?
What is "effective" and "invigorating" about getting legislation passed when your party has super majorities in the state legislature and the governor is also a member of the same party? It's predictable. The Republicans don't have the votes to stop any legislation and the only way her bills do not get passed is if they don't match up with what the far-left leadership wants. Unlike Catharine Baker, Bauer-Kahan is entirely predictable and will vote with the left wing of her party on "big picture" items every time.
If you enjoy one party (echo chamber) rule - then by all means vote for her. Some of us have grown tired of her tirades about the state somehow not having enough gun control measures (that criminals simply ignore), environmental/climate change legislation (when the state doesn't have enough power during summer months and high energy prices), or the "need" for abortion on demand (when most voters support some types of restrictions on it).
