Having 2 sheriffs deputies in my family, I have a problem understanding this. They have to go through intensive training and have a squeaky clean record (I would hope) to become a law enforcement officer. Whatever triggered something in him to commit such a heinous crime? He had a whole lifetime ahead of him!

The article doesn’t mention the number of years this guy was a Deputy, but many departments have lowered their standards for hire for purposes of equity.

>have lowered their standards for hire for purposes of equity.

And that means they lowered the training standards as well? <sigh>

Typical response demonstrating the lack of critical thinking skills. One should realize that training follows ‘first’ the necessary component of ‘hiring.’ If the tree is poisoned at the point of hiring, any fruit from that step on is damaged. Training doesn’t fix it.

>>lack of critical thinking skills

I see you have no reasoning ability. So, in your reality the hiring process used wasn't good enough and any training that followed wasn't at a level due to your 'thinking' the hiring process failed?

You have a unique reasoning abilities. <eye roll>

He was hired.
Then he was given a gun.
Another gun on the streets in the wrong hands.
Two people are now dead because of that violent person with a gun.

And if he was white, what would've been your theory? At least veil your racism a little thicker if you're going to air it out in public.
