The last Alameda County district attorney candidate forum. I asked the moderators to ask the following question. "Please ask the candidates to expound on fatherless home in Alameda County". The moderators did not ask the candidates that question.

Here are some stats:

1. 85% of youth currently in prison grew up in fatherless homes.
2. 72% of Americans believe that a fatherless home is the most significant social problem and family problem that is facing their country. (National Center for Fathering).
3. 85% of all children which exhibit some type of behavior disorder come from fatherless home. (US Dept. of Justice).
4. About 40% of children in the United States are born to mothers who are not married. (CDC).
5. 92% of parents who are currently in prison in the United States are fathers. (Glaze and Maruschak).

The above is five facts taken from approximately 30 published facts on fatherless homes available online.

Michael, why would you ask that question from DA candidates who are all black? Having read your posts in the past, I would say your question is dog whistle for racists.

You are not interested in bringing up the topic so we can get to the root cause of these problems. You just want to say that black families are broken and that is why there is a lot of crime.

National center for fathers
provided these facts.
Children without fathers in the home:
Facts are what they are - they involve all races.

Black African American - 57.6%.
Hispanic - 31.2 %.
White - 20.7 %.

My race is the most abused race in the history of America.
My home was childless. Childless because we were removed and placed in boarding school. My parents remained intact.
I identify as Sioux Indian.

I watched the online "debate" among the prospective candidates. I don't know if it was recorded for viewing. Perhaps it would help to post a link to the "debate." My own intuition directed me to pick one candidate. Most of them speak in code to sound the same on key points. Your intuition may be your best guide in this race, your only guide.

As you go to the polls today to vote or finalize your ballot for mail-in, please take a look at Candidate Statements in the Alameda County Voter Guide for the primary. Candidates had an opportunity to publish their Candidate Statements in that guide that goes to all voters. Some chose to do so, some did not. Please read before you make your final decision. Thanks! and please VOTE! (Joe, 26-year resident of Pleasanton)
