CPC Danville offers Four $3,000 College Scholarships to High School Seniors

Original post made by FOR the Valley Staff, Danville, on Mar 3, 2022

CPC Danville, a community church in the San Ramon Valley, is offering college scholarships to four graduating high school seniors from the San Ramon Valley Unified School District (SRVUSD). For the second year in a row, the church will grant each of the four qualifying students a $3,000 scholarship to be used this Fall.

“CPC’s scholarship program is part of our FOR the Valley movement, which is anchored in the belief that ‘being for others can change the world’,” said Tyler Scott, Lead Pastor at CPC. “We want these students to know we are for them–and God is for them too! We’re thrilled to be offering this for the second year in a row and invest in their future in a meaningful way.”

To apply for the scholarship, seniors are invited to demonstrate how they have shown others they are FOR them, whether at school, in the community or in the world at large. Students will also share what positive change has come about as the result of their actions.

“As a high school senior, you have a voice, a creative perspective and the potential to make a positive impact on our world,” said Bill Haslim, Associate Pastor of Student Ministries. “We want to support that creativity and encourage students to invest their time and talents to make a difference in the lives of people around them.”

Submissions may be in the form of a song, photo, painting, dance, drawing, video, monologue, essay, poem or service project incorporating any or several of these elements. The FOR Scholarship team will share all submissions throughout social media.

The deadline for submission to the is no later than midnight on April 17, 2022 to [email protected] The FOR Scholarship team will review all of the submissions and contact every applicant no later than May 2, 2022. The FOR the Valley Scholarship entry is open to all SRVUSD students, regardless of race, gender, language, religious or political background, or economic and social situation.
