Closures of downtown traffic at Main Street Bridge just before the Pleasanton Hotel on weekends is very very wrong. Good idea but the closure needs to start at St. John Street such that Peter's Avenue is accessible for south bound traffic to downtown. It's nice to stroll Main Street on foot but we need better access to the downtown on weekends to the other businesses on Peter's Avenue. - - Been a resident of Pleasanton since 1984 and extending access to St. John's Street is important.

The PDA is really only concerned with helping the restaurants, they don't care how this street closure harms the other merchants. Stopping it at St. John would be a good start. How about giving merchants, other than restaurants, a 25% reduction in their PDA fees since they stand to lose 25% of their business when customers cannot easily get to their stores? This was fine when indoor dining was banned but this is not at all fair to the non-restaurants to continue it.
