"A series of special meetings were hosted by the council last year "to listen to and engage with the community on policing in Pleasanton," following the death of George Floyd,..."

The council needs to reexamine its priority system. Exactly what did the City of Pleasanton and/or the police department have to do with what happened to George Floyd? It's time to stop "listening" to and "engaging" with so called progressive people who think every police officer is just like Derek Chauvin, every police department is "systemically racist", and departments need to be de-funded to "re-imagine" law enforcement (by letting more criminals go free/not charging them with crimes).

We have our own unnecessary deaths in Pleasanton. There are things we can and should do in dealing with the mentally ill. We can also take the officers off our campuses. Both things are worthy of a discussion.

60,000 Americans overdose from prescription drugs every year (such as fentanyl and oxy), so naturally we need to focus on 1 death over a thousand miles away.

This is supposed to be about resource officers at K-12 schools.. Forget Floyd and the mental health dude. Students feeling threatened by them is PC BS.. maybe they will stop with the devious tricks or whatever they call it on TikTok.

Both drug od and policing are important topics. Pleasanton is doing a great job with drug education based on my sons’ experiences at Foothill. But, more needs to be done about fixing our law enforcement system locally and nationally.

Don't miss out on the discussion!
