Feds extend Real ID compliance date to May 2023 due to pandemic

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has extended its full enforcement of Real ID-compliant driver's licenses from Oct. 1, 2021 to 2023 due to the pandemic, DHS officials announced last week.

No one is required to get a "Real ID" Drivers License.
A passport or a passport card are "Real ID".
People without passport or passport card and do not want a pass port or pass port card and want to travel by aircraft will be required to have a "Real ID" drivers license.
