I totally agree with your comments, Debbie. I recently communicated my same feelings about Tim's articles directly to the editor. I'm all about donating toward positive causes. So for now, at least, I'll be supporting other causes instead.

Thank you Debbie for your thoughts and opinion. Also special thanks to Tim Talks about expressing many of the feelings of our residents. Debbie, the “editorial piece” of the weekly is not “journalism” as you are requesting, but rather opinion and perspective.

Everyone interprets the “science” or “facts” to meet their own feelings or opinions. I don’t always agree with our elected leaders and especially career politicians. There is way to much “special interest” money used in elections to shape perspective. I believe “Term limits” is necessary to protect the downfall of our republic.

Debbie, it is good that you expressed your opinions. I happen to agree with Tim on most of his opinions. He was also super supportive when my son was serving in the US Marine Corps. We are very fortunate to live in a country where we can express our opinions freely. Tim is not writing as a journalist; he is expressing his editorial opinion. I you don't agree with it, line your birdcage with his column, but please don't suggest that we should censor any thoughts you find unwelcome. I too am concerned about government over-reach. This "shelter in place" began as a two-week stint to flatten the curve and has now grown into government control policed by unelected county health bureaucrats. We should all be concerned as citizens by the erosion of our civil liberties in the name of safety.

Line your birdcage with it, there’s an idea!

Seriously, as a long time resident I enjoy the local coverage the Pleasanton Weekly provides. I even enjoy the local business visibility and advertising it provides. However, I concur with Debbie in that Tim’s Talk presents one specific group’s views and always enjoys second page placement to do so. The language is frequently snarky and the subtext aggressive. Tim is certainly within his rights to hold and express his opinions but I find the dominant placement of his one sided views seems to reflect the editorial positions and are offensive.

Maybe it is time for me to get a bird and buy a birdcage.

I totally agree with you, Debbie!

I do my best to respond and object to any of Tim’s blogs that spread insult, false information and rumors. Two weeks ago, he spread rumor about Eric Swalwell having a sexual relationship with a Chinese spy with Fox’s Tucker Carlson as his source. Tim calls himself a Christian and is the elder of local church Graceway. Is that what a Christian does, especially a church spiritual leader??

One wonders if Tim is the best that PW can do to occupy its second page. There are many conservative leaders who can present their opinions without name calling scientists and politicians as Tim has done in his articles.

Tim uses discredited sources such as Scott Atlas to justify his warped opinion while criticizing Anthony Fauci and what the vast majority of healthcare experts around the world are saying and doing. Nobody claims that all the restrictions and policies are perfect - the scientific community is doing its best and learning, gathering data, and adjusting. Does Tim offer a better solution? No!

Tim is clearly an ardent Trump supporter as demonstrated by his blogs. Tim like some other Trump supporters don’t believe in facts if the facts hurt their cause.

Tim belongs to cadre of YouTube conspiracy theorists, not on a local paper editorial section.

I will continue to push back against him and people like him, and I encourage you all to do the same! Being quiet is worse than agreeing with this garbage!

Agreed .... Mr. Hunt seems to be a conservative partisan and, while that of course is his right, I believe his prominently-located articles too often are embedded with religious or political commentary that in my opinion is ill-suited in a supposedly non-partisan local paper.

You can see outcome of Trump’s, Tim’s and Trumpeters’ (Ted Cruz, josh Harley, Devin Nunes, etc.) hateful, false and ignorant words on the Capitol Hill today. A few thousand brainwashed Trump zombies stormed the hill provoked by lies.

Thank God our Democracy is strong and kicked out Trump!
