Pleasanton Preps: Reflecting on 9/11 and that first football game back at Monte Vista

Last week was the 19th anniversary of 9/11, and every year the memories of the terrorist attacks on the United States tear me apart inside.

Thank you so very much for writing this wonderful article. I grew up in Danville and went to San Ramon High, but my little brother went to Monte Vista which was only 1 1/2 miles from our home in Alamo Oaks. I moved to Pleasanton in 1974 and my children and 2 grandsons are now attending schools that my children attended.

Football represents a return to normalcy.
Football is a welcomed relief.
I have so many friends in football, the return to this sport brings so many memories from the Big Eight, Colorado Football, now "Big twelve".
The Denver Broncos, the Oakland Raiders, there is no end to refreshing of memories.
