I find it fascinating to watch how differently two of the three Tri Valley cities are responding to calls to review their policing practices.
Pleasanton is slow and deliberative, focusing almost exclusively on police policies.
Livermore responded more quickly and is broadening it’s scope to include equity, inclusion and community engagement.
This matches the personalities of the two cities and their residents, histories and politics.
This is going to be an interesting journey. Stay tuned!
I commend the Pleasanton Weekly for stepping up to provide excellent and neutral coverage of our issues here in the valley. I used to toss away my Weekly after a glance because it was fluff and real estate ads. Now I look forward to reading your articles and recently subscribed.
I miss the days of two competing weekly newspapers here but you’re doing an admirable job of filling the void.
Keep up the good work.
