Tesla Was Bluffing!

Original post made by Michael Austin, Pleasanton Meadows, on May 20, 2020

Tesla reverses course with his threat to pack up and move his factory out of Fremont.

Regarding a previous topic posted on this forum, I stated that Tesla was bluffing.

Jake Waters had this to say "those critics claiming Tesla is bluffing are living on the moon".

Well I continue to live here on earth, and today Tesla dropped his lawsuit against Alameda county along with his threat to move his factory out of Fremont.

I hadn't seen/read anything about Elon changing his mind.

Is there a citation for this?

I think you people in Pleasanton just like to argue with each other. Good luck with that.

Livermore passed Pleasanton for quality of life years ago. Wombat is to busy living in the past and pontificating to have noticed.

Of course he's bluffing. Tesla has enormous amounts of money invested in the Fremont factory and backbone of the Tesla workforce has no interest in relocating out of California.

So you came back from the moon to find out that Alameda County blinked. He is also setting up a plant in Austin, Texas.

You really embarrassed yourself with your article. As Elon Musk tweeted: “Take the red pill.”

More importantly: Is this SIP really helping? Ask yourself where is the evidence.

The Evidence:

I am not sick, I was tested earlier this week, I do not have CORVID-19!

I found it RACIST the Democrat Bureaucrats were willing to put so many Indian Americans out of work at Tesla. Worse, the Public Health Dept was calling for in person protests over people going back to work at Tesla -btw employees had to wear masks and social distancing and temp checks at Tesla....hmm Public bureaucrat calling for large group protests that lacks social distancing because you don’t want a huge employer to open....alterer motive maybe at the public health department?

Jake -

Look at a graph of new infections. If it looks like a parabola, what we’re doing is not helping. It if looks like a line, it’s working. It’s simple but overwhelming statistical evidence of whether the steps were taking are helping.

By all means, draw your own conclusions on whether the costs are worth the effort, but there really is no dispute about the effectiveness of SIP.

What’s even more sick is Democrat bureaucrats still allow the Google buses to run at the fairgrounds...hauling people in those tight buses with limited ventilation, while pushing all other businesses to stay closed like hairstylist! It’s such a joke and I can’t wait to vote out anyone with a D next to their name in Nov!

By all means please keep telling yourself that the SIP is working, because it makes you feel better and gives you a sense of control. Really look at all those dizzy lines with glee and make sure you live on every word by Dr. Fauci. Make sure you call for the removal of all other medical experts that dare discuss other ideas and opinions that deviate from his opinions. And of course make sure you call on the social media giants to remove any expression of free speech those Doctors would like to express, because we minions should not be allowed to hear it. I remember a time in history where I read they had events to burn books because those ideas were just too unacceptable. Hmmm, I’m sure I read that somewhere.

We no more know if the SIP is working than we know if all the deaths are actually caused directly from the virus. If a person dies and they are tested to have the virus than it goes into the Covid19 column. What we do know perfectly well is the cure is worse than the disease, and we are watching helplessly our community die each day as another business goes down. This will be my last comment on the Covid19 debacle because it really doesn’t accomplish anything except stir up emotions. Florida has done it right.

On to Elon Musk. The beauty of his actions are that he is a liberal Democrat who voted for Gavin Newsom (I’m sure), gave to his campaign and the DNC, is their favorite greenie, but had to stand up against his party’s policies, and they gave in. Really when you think about it, it’s hysterical. But, and there is always that but, he was allowed to open and other businesses were not.

I know, I know I was going to remain silent, however it’s to important not to hear this. I will do my best to stay out of these discussions from this point forward, so here it is:

“ Doctors at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek say they have seen more deaths by suicide during this quarantine period than deaths from the COVID-19 virus. The head of the trauma in the department believes mental health is suffering so much, it is time to end the shelter-in-place order.”

@Jake Waters

I think that it’s becoming clearer that coronavirus, while deadlier than the flu, is not the “approximately 20-times deadlier than the flu” danger that it was first thought to be. Shutting down large parts of the economy resulting in over 30 million people being thrown out of work was an overreaction. And, yes, losing one’s livelihood can be very traumatic for not just the person losing his or her job but also their family. This is the human cost to our coronavirus sheltering-in-place which has been largely ignored for too long.

Your idea that "Tesla was bluffing" is quite misguided. Did you think that Musk meant he would shut down Fremont immediately? Of course not, that is Tesla's primary production plant. However, Elon Musk has had a gut full of California. Tesla is opening another factory in Texas or Oklahoma, and probably another in Nevada. You will see, that over time, Tesla will de-emphasize or transition production out of Fremont.

You might also note that the coronavirus is also going to be a huge blow, over time, to the Bay Area. Companies, particularly high-tech companies with loads of software workers and desk jobs, have found that these workers don't need to work in company offices. Mark Zuckerberg recently stated that 50% of Facebook workers will permanently not need to work in company offices, and that most of those workers will be free to leave the Bay Area.

California and the Bay Area better rethink their policies toward regulations, taxes, and housing; or they will be seeing a large number of empty office buildings and plants, as well as deflated housing prices.

Facebook is a joke. They don’t make a product, YOU are their product, and then they CENSOR YOU if you don’t post according to their radical agenda. Just a few years ago the CEO Zuck was going around the US pushing Socialist propaganda of universal income. Now the selfish Zuck is telling employees if you move out of California he will cut their pay. He is a sick evil man and Fakebook is worthless Democrat propaganda. TESLA IS AN AMAZING COMPANY WITH REAL LIFE CHANGING TECHNOLOGY AND WILL BE A HUGE LOSS IF DEMOCRATS PUSH TESLA OUT OF STATE.

If you want more lies, more theocracy, more professional victimhood, more pseudoscience, more corruption, more debt, more misogyny, more corporate welfare, more white supremacy, and more ignorance, vote for republicans.

There, I have said it! and dosen't make any difference in the scheme of things. I want my beloved rationality back!

Frankly Tesla, the company, I love. From their cars, to batteries and solar to space exploration. Elon Musk is a visionary.

Tesla drivers, on the other hand, are preening virtue signalers who don't understand that the manufacturing of their cars are as environmentally damaging as carbon-based cars.

Look up what they have to destroy to make those batteries. ugh!
