Sad to see he is running. While running for President he indicated he would not seek another term. Please Democrats, surly you can find someone competent or is that an oxymoron?

Nothing says “competence” like someone getting himself impeached after less than three years in office.

Just sayin’.

This clown promised to be bipartisan when he ran against Pete Stark. In reality he has been anything but. He seems to like having the media catching him walking and being pals with that idiot Adam Schiff. What a disappointment Eric has been.

He has fallen flat on his face time and time again.
Seriously, what has he delivered on? He’s completely pushed his political hand all in on Trump and the tax returns, family business affairs, Russians, collusion, Ukraine.....etc. if the Democrats are successful, his career is preserved , he will have something to hold his reputation on.

If the impeachment plays out like most believe it may, what does he have to show? Nothing, he’s done nothing for the constituents he’s there to represent.

One way or the other he’s played his political career hand

"Among other plans this year, U.S. Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Livermore) will discuss raising the minimum wage, lowering prescription drug prices and ending gun violence..."

"Gun violence" is a political term. Objects(guns, knives, swords, clubs, etc.)do not commit acts of violence. Swalwell (and most members of his party) has made it clear he is really only interested in eroding/ending legal gun ownership - for those having nothing to do with violence. Criminals who abuse guns on the streets are perceived as bystanders/victims of gun manufacturers and 2nd Amendment supporters. One of his campaign platforms as a presidential candidate was gun confiscation for the law abiding. Sorry, but him calling it a "buyback" program doesn't change things - it was not voluntary.

Raising the minimum wage results in fewer entry level jobs for those entering the workforce. So called progressives (not knowing how businesses operate) are trying to legislate equality of outcomes/promoting an entitlement mentality...again.

Swalwell has some chutzpah, running for office, ridiculous. He doesn't realize his people are king. And when you come at the king, you best not miss.

One more comment on this guy and I will leave it alone: Eric indicates he will be discussing- raising the minimum wage, lowering prescription drug prices and ending gun violence.

Though Eric represents us in the Tri-Valley area, we know in this state there are real issues with homelessness with the extenuating problems of disease, drug use, alcoholism, public health problems, and the repercussions from Prop 47, to name a few. And because of these problems, Sacramento is going to use the taxpayers as an ATM to address it. Mind you, no solutions have been provided, no plans have been suggested, but a lot of money is going to be diverted to this problem. So I ask Eric, why in the love of logic and common sense is he headlining these topics? The most obvious problems of this state are knocking on the door. Minimum wage has been going up, but that in itself hurts young entry jobs and cuts hours of other’s already employed, not to mention an increase of goods and services. Prescription drugs costs, unfortunately, is not an impending threat that should take the lead before the problem of homelessness that has spilled out into our streets. Lastly, ending gun violence has been talked about for decades and is a go-to topic for impotent politicians that fail to accomplish anything else. Ending gun violence requires police departments to engage in proactive enforcement in high crime areas. If that doesn’t happen then gun violence will not recede.

So Eric, I would suggest you go back to your office and rethink what you are going to talk about at the next town hall. Otherwise, all you are doing is making noise, and we are tired of you making noise and running down rabbit holes.

Eric-where’s the love? And, what have you done for US lately? What about your district constituents. No real participation in getting more federal and state funding for infrastructure benefitting this area, or working with your state assembly reps to kick BART in the rear to improve. Lowering Rx costs is important and raising the minimum wage to $15 bucks or so won’t do much for this high expense area. But think about your district!! Do you even care anymore about college tuition assistance and repayment help for our struggling kids. No one cares because foreign students can pay big bucks and the UC system wants that money.

Has anyone noticed that 100's of BILLIONS of $'s sent to local, State and Federal coffers go missing every year and not ONE politician raises a stink about it?

Look at what is being alleged with Joe Biden and his son, Hunter.

Here is how that scam worked: Billions of $ were sent to Ukraine for "aid". That "aid" made its way to Non-Govermental Organization (NGO) in the form of grants and such. Those same NGO's then made kick-backs to other NGO's and businesses which then filtered into our politicians pockets.

This is what they've been doing to us for over 50 years. Both political party's are guilty.

THIS is why Eric Swalwell and others like him aren't doing a thing. Its all about money.

THIS is why BOTH political parties are out to get Trump. He is an outsider. He knows these people inside and out because he was part of their circuit for many years, donating to everyone, attending their parties, listening to their drunken tales of corruption, perhaps even being offered compensation to join in.

He never took the bait He's clean and they know it, so they try to take him down through impeachment.

And here we are, still getting ripped off by politicians on both sides and actually allowing frauds like Swalwell to continue legislating and moralizing to US.

Vote for the candidate that runs against Eric Swalwell.

Dan

What a sad disappointment in our local resident. I think Swalwell is running for his congressional seat re-election as his last choice He really wants to be a political commentator on CNN and his ridiculous campaign for democratic presidential nominee was just to get name recognition.

And just like that, the Pentagon racks up $35 Trillion - yes, trillion! - in accounting changes in just one year.

Web Link

Add to this, the finding of 1000's of pallets of aid intended for hurricane survivors in Puerto Rico. Yep, they have now found TWO warehouses chock full of aid from the US that was earmarked due to Hurricane Maria.

Both parties aren't saying a word. You can bet Trump will.

How anyone can trust ANY politician or bureaucrat is beyond me.

Vote the politicians out and fire all procurement management of EVERY government agency.

I am a strong supporter for Eric Swalwell, since he has supported M.E., Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/cfs awareness, for illness that affects up to 2.5 million in US, yet gross discrimination at NIH for funding R&D for diseases that affect especially women incl ME. See an objective evaluation of NIH funding of diseases at: Web Link For more info, also see top R&D in CA incl Stanford by Open Medicine Foundation, www.OMF.NGO. Eric Swalwell and Aide did tour the Stanford ME/CFS research center with me and others two year ago. He really does can about health. He care for you and M.E.!

Im glad to hear he has done something of value, he hasn’t completely wasted his opportunity. And I’m sure the people impacted by that are thankful. He deserves recognition for that.

Unfortunately, he failed to distribute his efforts in an equitably meaningful way across his constituents. He let a personal cause consume him instead of ensuring balance in his public works porttfolio. I personally think he will pay that penalty at the next election, especially if trump doesn’t get impeached

yea even dems can ruin impeachment like they have the word racism. As a matter of fact most every community they get power in they destroy. SF, oakland, hayward, castro valley, san jose, pleasanton and coming soon to livermore. Swalwell is a political hack. Im sure anyone in his position could have done That for you DR. But what else has he done DR? Anything or just that and is that enough or should we expect more from our elected officials. I think we should expect and demand more. What do you say? is that enough?

If you're happy with the job that Sacramento is doing, vote for the Democrats. If you're unhappy, vote for a Republican.

My confession -- I'm a Republican who disliked Pete Stark so much that I voted for Swalwell. I now know that when I die I'm going to Hell.

Dave,
You are correct. My intent was around the actual removal of Donald Trump from office as a result of that impeachment. Impeaching him in the house, and the Senate not finding him guilty / acquitting him will result in a negative impact for Eric. Thank you for correcting my language as many associate impeachment with removal, and you're right to point out they are not in fact one in the same.

Based on his being consistently re-elected with > 3/4 of the vote, I estimate that everyone who votes against him has registered present on this thread.

.......funny how the justification to support Swalwell in office is not accepted by Swalwell for why Trump is in office.

And that isn’t specific to whether you may like or hate Trump as a person, as a president, or both.
