The Russians? Possible direct wholesale purchase outlet (just kidding) and a sludge tank. All sounds like fun!

You do know that "pot" sales are not at the level that was expected because the "state" set the tax rate so high that everyone just kept buying from the "underground economy" where the product is much cheaper? I'll bet much of this harvest is slated to out the back door to the black market.

All the drug war efforts......for not, make it legal and they can’t afford to survive as a regulated entity.
The illegal sales in other states are all they are holding onto.

There will be more pot heads running around, driving under the influence, killing more innocent people.
Hopefully, the illegal purchasers of illegal pot will kill themselves with the bad dope, before they kill more innocent people.
Mean while, we have the legal pot heads purchasing the legal pot, getting high and driving, killing more innocent people.
The democratic party is responsible for this chaos and lawlessness.

Michael Austin, would you apply everything you said to alcohol? That has been more than proven to be more dangerous than marijuana, especially for people behind the wheel.
I hope you are not one of those who attacks pot non-stop, while sipping a Martini.

Does it matter? I have tried, don't smoke it currently, as I don't like anything on my lungs. I drink some wine on Fridays and Saturdays, and the very occasional edible used as a sleep aide. I agree on DUI, but I very much disagree on people that bash marijuana, and yet drink alcohol. It is, to me, flat out hypocrisy.

This is a sad commentary of life, and I would expect more comments of concern; however, this article isn’t about Costco, it’s about dope. Is this the legacy we want for our generations now and those to come? Has our liberals in this state given up and given in to dollars? Or does it also provide our state Democrats with more dumbed down voters? We are going to lose a generation of young people to this problem. Read, “Tell Your Children: The Truth About Marijuana, Mental Illness and Violence,” by Alex Berenson, and then we can attempt to have an intelligent conversation. And you morons who cling to your alcohol comparison every time this subject comes up are just that: morons.

People under the influence of alcohol are generally way more aggressive than those smoking mary j. If your against pot that you should be ten times against alcohol. If you drink alcohol than you should probably not comment on pot users because they are by far more dangerous even behind the wheel. Now let's talk about those on the road who are neither on alcohol or pot but simply dont have the skills to be a safe driver. These people also endanger us on the road. One a daily basis I have to avoid accidents from careless clueless. Skillless drivers. If you dont know what a gore point or line is you should not have a drivers license......after all they were created for people who dont have tje skill or judgement to merge safely. I thi k the fact we felt like we needed these to help these poor drivers proves my point.

@ Jake Waters:
You should start a crusade against all that then. But DO include alcohol in the rant.

My in-laws live in Jacksonville Oregon, just West of Medford. Marijuana fields surround the town (along with some good wineries) and the town stinks if the wind is just right. I liken it to living in Milpitas when the wind blows over the dumps and the smell wafts over the entire city. Ugh.
Only our California legislature, made up of primarily Democrats, can screw up a revenue gold mine like marijuana sales. It kinda reminds me when Grey Davis screwed up the energy situation by "privatizing" delivery services. Wasn't even close to privatizing anything.

The discussion on this topic , is ridiculous. Marijuana has cured many diseases, anxiety, opioid addiction, mental illness , cancer etc. I’m no doctor but skeletal and joints as we age suffer from arthritis, bursitis, inflammation, and the top factor stress. Everyone is getting the flower from somewhere, and as stated in the plans this isn’t a dispensary, it’s basically a plant that manufactures strains that are in demand . Livermore is a perfect community for this . Why not agriculture is on just about every acre in our City. It’s no different then growing grapes l I don’t see any grapes being grown for jelly, or grape juice , we use it to attract the wine consumer and nobody asks the community how we feel about fermenting and producing wine from 60 wineries just in Livermore. This next generation is not wake and bakers” this opportunity could be a lifetime career for our college students that are interested in agriculture, science, and or a cure for disease we face every day. 30 jobs or more is much needed , as the average family is commuting to the Silicon Valley or further. We really need to focus on the millions this idea could produce . And stop building more homes . Hey Campos you need a partner ?
Good luck on your. Investment

I've indulged -- regularly -- for over 50 years. Don't care for wine, beer, hard stuff. Find it relaxing, a social lubricant and except when I smoke when I have a cold, harmless -- so far. This farm will be up in the hills and if they follow through, will be guarded 24-7, will have fences. There are virtually no houses up there, but even if there were, the smell, I find, is pleasant. It is LEGAL. NIMBYs should chill; this creates jobs, extends our agricultural heritage, complements our wine culture in the valley -- and many people like it. So there.

No one has mentioned the crime that will ensue after this farm is active....other areas has proven the facts. To all those sheep that say weed is harmless just wait and see when this project goes live.

Lots of crime associated with alcohol. Drunks usually get violent and aggressive stoners usually dont. The chances of you getting assaulted by a drunk is way higher than for stoners. Also crime exists everywhere for everything. Let's get rid of banks , liquor stores, cars, cash, jewelry, homes [no more home invasions] etc etc etc. I have a better idea how about we get rid of sanctuary cities and people and politicians who support them and eliminate some crimes. Hmmmmm then we dont have to spend our money and time criminalizing Americans law abiding behavior.
I too like the smell of fresh growing marijuana but can't stand the harsh nasty smell of curry.
Can we ban cooking with curry as its offensive to me and triggers me everytime I smell it. Or does that make me racist.....lmao
Snowflakes.

'I've got a GREAT idea! I'll just burn some plant, inhale the smoke, feel high, and it will cure ALL my ailments with absolutely NO side effects. Then, I'll project my habits on those who drink a glass of wine. That'll teach them how morally superior I am!'
...said every cigarette and pot smoker.

There are a lot of people in this town that should really start smoking pot, by the sound of the comments. The real sheep are the ones who fight it. BUT, you are dying off and moving away. Time is moving on without you, and you won't be missed.

@ Dan - you do know there are more ways to use marijuana than smoking it, right? Many people use edibles and oils to relieve pain, help with insomnia, arthritis, and other chronic illnesses where traditional pharmaceuticals have failed or become dangerously addictive.
Now that the laws are changing, actual peer reviewed studies are being conducted to prove the efficacy of marijuana for helping in many disease states.

The CDB oil BS is similar to every vitamin claim ever made.
Please stop.
I’ll acknowledge that hemp is a viable commodity, but that isn’t the same as marijuana.
Bring on the studies, I’m all for them, but stop with the hype.
And for those of you who think I’m anti-pot, think again. I don’t care what you do in the privacy of your own home. Just stop with the “miracle cure” nonsense. It’s a weed and you’re inhaling combustibles into your lungs.

Growers and sellers of POT have full knowledge that their end product when used, has high probability that the end user may operate a motor vehicle under the influence of their product.
Therefore growers and sellers of the POT should shoulder the liability when a user of their product operates a motor vehicle while under the influence of their product and kills an innocent person.

“Therefore growers and sellers of the POT should shoulder the liability when a user of their product operates a motor vehicle while under the influence of their product and kills an innocent person.”
I don’t agree. It’s almost like saying a gun manufacturer is responsible because some nut used a gun to kill someone. It’s a slippery slope.

OK, understand your comment.
The subjects compared POT to Alcohol.
Forty-three states of the fifty have a DRAM Law, for Alcohol, which allows bartenders, saloon owners be liable when one of their patrons over indulge due to continued serving from bartender.
California in one of those states of the fifty that has no real DRAM Law which prohibits bartender, saloon owner from being liable. Why, democratic majority rescinded the original California DRAM Law.

The ignorance, stupidity, or the fear you may lose your right to get stoned is pathetic among many of you commenters. You know nothing of the history, research, or facts around this drug. You have never picked up a book to save your life. Marijuana hasn’t cured a damn thing except to destroy our young.
And again, for your morons who love to bring up alcohol every time there is a discussion about weed, you should wake up: legalization of another mind altering substance is not a debate.

And every parent who produces a child should know that child most likely will at some time In Their life break the law or kill someone driving drunk therefore we should hold the parents responsible for what they created. Great logic.
or how about this we hire police officers so everytime a police officer kills someone we should pick one citizen to be responsible for the death. Or how about because as a society we let people drive cars and when they kill someone I think Michael and Dan should be held liable because they didn't try to stop people from driving cars. Or or or lol
You can eat edibles that have thc not just cbd so you don't have to smoke it. Get a clue or please just keep quiet your embarrassing your self.

Let’s end the debate between alcohol and weed, and make all of you happy that march out to your backyards and smoke your dope (those who always have and those who couldn’t wait to have it legal), as your kids look out the window- let’s legalize heroin, meth, acid, and cocaine. Let’s do that and then all the Democrats who are Mayors, City Managers, and Chiefs Of Police can all rave how crime statistics have greatly fallen, because it’s all legal. The socialist District Attorney in San Francisco is on the move to do just that in their city. After all, perhaps that is why most of you are not upset that our southern border is unprotected. This way you get all your opioids, and other drugs entering on a regular bases. Look at the statistics in Colorado and the rise of psychosis among youth taken to the emergency room.
I am going to do everything in my power to still be here on earth in 10 years to read about the failed ideology of the left that invested their time and money in the rights of dope users. Society is becoming dumb down as they look out through their glassy red eyes from a blank stare.
Be careful what you wish for.
