PPD: Resident watching home security video helps nab package thieves

Pleasanton police reported arresting two suspected package thieves with the help of a getaway car description provided by a resident who watched the crime occur on video outside his home earlier this week.

There’s a news story with captured videos on this incident. It looks like the pair and their car were caught on video from the instant that they first entered the neighborhood and that at least four video cameras recorded them as they entered the neighborhood, walked up the sidewalk, grabbed the package, and drove away.

Also curious about how a 26 year old guy who has nothing better to do with his life than steal porch packages ended up driving a $70K car like an Audi A7.

I'm glad they were caught. You're entitled to your policy of not naming suspects, but most people disagree. Including me. I care about the victims, and I'm sick of criminals having more rights. It's a skewed mindset.
